Precognitive & Pre-Developmental Trauma After Pregnancy Loss

SHOW NOTES: Episode 30

On today’s episode, I’m discussing the impact of pregnancy loss on parents and children - more specifically pre-cognitive and pre-developmental trauma and it’s effects. Trauma can affect parents’ emotional state in future pregnancies and can manifest in children in various ways.

The harsh reality is that pregnancy loss can be a traumatic experience for parents, both emotionally and physically. I shed light on the fact that trauma can occur during the earliest stages of a child's life, starting from conception, and can significantly impact their future development and psychological well-being.

I also introduced the concept of precognitive trauma, which refers to traumatic events that occur before a child has the cognitive ability to fully comprehend or remember them. I also explained that the trauma of pregnancy loss can profoundly affect parents' emotional state during subsequent pregnancies. This trauma can lead to increased anxiety, fear, and worry, which can impact their ability to bond with the baby during pregnancy and influence their perception of themselves as parents.

It’s important to acknowledge this trauma and seek support to process it. I hope this episode is filled with empathy, validation, and assistance for you as you are navigating pregnancy loss.
