Part 2: Navigating Common Myths of TFMR with Sabrina Fletcher

SHOW NOTES: Episode 42

On today’s episode, I am sharing part 2 of Sabrina’s episode. We talk more about the emotional complexities of pregnancy loss, challenging myths and misconceptions of TFMR. We share how the decisions that are made around these losses are made with deep love and responsibility and not taken lightly. This conversations highlights the psychological impact. We advocate for compassion, understanding, and support communities for those grieving. This is part 2 of last week’s episode so if you haven’t had a chance to listen to it, I invite you to go back and listen in before starting today’s episode!

More Common Myths about TFMR:

3. “We are looking for a perfect baby.”

This is also not true. If we could have saved our babies, we would have. There are so many reasons that people get a termination for medical reasons and having a “perfect” baby is not on that list.

4. “It’s just an abortion. It’s just a medical procedure.”

This is a profound loss that affects your entire life. It’s not just a regular medical procedure. It’s a loss of a family member - your baby.

5. “We’re not actually parents.”

If your baby lived in your womb or on the outside, you are a parent. The day that you get pregnant, you are that baby’s mum. You are a parent.

I hope this episode can help with healing for you if you have heard these things after going through TFMR. If you are needing support, please reach out.
