How Our Bodies Remember Loss

SHOW NOTES: Episode 23


In today’s episode, I discuss the topic of grief and how our bodies remember loss even before we can consciously realize it. I share my personal experience with this when I experienced my loss. I explain the concept of explicit and implicit memories. I explain that explicit memories are those we consciously recall, like specific events or experiences. However, implicit memories are body memories that don't require conscious recollection. These are the sensations, emotions, and reactions that our bodies remember and respond to, even if we think we've moved on.

It’s important to not bypass our emotions because our bodies always remember. Allow yourself to go through the emotions and sensations. These intense moments will pass. If you have ever wondered if your body truly remembers loss, then today’s episode is one you are going to want to tune in to!
