This conversation doesn't have to end when the episode does.

The Reproductive Loss Leaders Room is where it keeps going — replays, live mentorship, and a room of practitioners across every discipline, all working out what this means for their own piece of care. Not another place where pregnancy loss is one topic among many. Here, it's the whole conversation.

What does it look like when a man refuses to let grief have the final word?

In this episode, I'm joined by Nathan Wiser — a former scuba diving instructor who built a life in the Turks and Caicos with his wife Lucy, nine rescue dogs, and an unshakeable dream of becoming parents.

What followed was a decade that tested them in every way imaginable. Four pregnancies lost. An infant daughter, Mary, who didn't come home. A uterine rupture that nearly took Lucy's life. A hurricane. A wildfire. And through it all, Nathan doing what so many men are never given permission to do — feeling it, carrying it, and staying.

This episode is raw, honest, and deeply human. Nathan talks about the moments he almost didn't make it through, what it meant to be the one who had to tell his wife their daughter was gone, and why he kept saying yes when every part of him wanted to say no more.

Their son Otto arrived at 26 weeks — under two pounds, fighting for his life. And the three words Lucy said to Nathan when she came out of surgery became the title of his book.

In this episode we cover:

  • What pregnancy loss looks like from a father's perspective
  • Navigating grief, PTSD, and coping in the wrong ways
  • The moment Nathan almost gave up — and what brought him back
  • Why men struggle to share their stories, and why it matters that they do
  • Otto's premature birth and the long road through the NICU
